The Malignant Hyperthermia Association is always working on ways to ensure better services for MH-susceptible patients. Along with our other services – drug wallet cards, warning letters, and MHS alert kits – MHAUS has partnered with the MedicAlert® Foundation to offer MH-susceptible patients medical identification products and services that alert others to your condition.

Like other rare diseases, it's critical to ensure you get the proper care for MH in an emergency. First responders or other medical personnel may be unfamiliar with the condition or treatment protocols. Having a MedicAlert ID and membership provides you with a way to communicate about MH in an emergency, and the ability to keep a detailed medical profile that is relayed to emergency personnel.

Benefits of a MedicAlert ID and Membership for people living with MH:

  • Your voice in an emergency: If you can’t speak for yourself, your ID will speak for you, informing others about your condition.
  • 24/7 emergency protection: MedicAlert will relay all of your critical medical information to first responders in an emergency, no matter where or when it happens.
  • Stay connected: You should never be alone in an emergency, that’s why MedicAlert will reach out to your emergency contacts when needed if you are unable to do so.
  • Live with confidence: The freedom to live your life with MH knowing that MedicAlert is there for you.
