Let's Save A Life: A One-Day Conference

MH Let’s Save a Life one-day conferences invite medical professionals to sit side-by-side with patients and family members learning from MHAUS experts and from each other. Conferences are facilitated by the Professional Liaison Committee and staff and are usually scheduled to take place on a Saturday.

Are you a medical professional who needs to further prepare for a malignant hyperthermia (MH) episode in your OR? Are you a health care student who may be familiar with MH but has not experienced an actual case or perhaps even a mock preparation? Or are you a member of the public who suspects that your family may be susceptible to MH?

If you answered yes, or even maybe, to any of these questions, an MH mini-conference will be extremely beneficial to you. There will be medical and scientific updates, with an opportunity to ask questions of MH experts, as well as patients and their family members who have experienced the effects of MH.

Upon completion participants will be able to:

  • Identify the signs and symptoms of an MH event.
  • Enforce quick treatment regimen for MH event.
  • Explain the response plan for an MH event to other medical staff.
  • State proper patient safety steps to take in preparation for an MH-susceptible patient.
  • Discuss MH testing options with patients and assist them in seeking further information. There are four education credits available.
