We are planning to do an MH drill and would appreciate advice on the best way to include the OR and the PACU. Our thought is to have the patient develop S&S of MH crisis shortly after induction, have the pt stabilized in the OR then brought to PACU with re-emerging S&S.

There is the wonderful orginzation right in front of each of you and it is a shame that you AND a fair share of the medical professionals out there, are not using it to you/thier advantage. Please as a patient with MH and three children who are MH suseptable, I would rather every hospital contact MHAUS and ASK THEM if they have "mock" MH excerises to use verus everyone having their "own" brand of excerises. There are wonderful people just waiting to talk to you and answer all of your questions. PLEASE CALL MHAUS!!!

It is my life or my childrens life (and that of many other MH paitents) that you would be dealing with in a MH crisis and I want to make sure that you KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING PROPERLY instead of guessing that you are handinling it right. PLEASE TAKE THE 30 SECONDS OUT OF YOUR BUSY DAY AND EDUCATE YOURSELF AND YOUR PEERS BY CONTACTING MHAUS!

You are so right! At my hospital we have become a member of the MHAUS and have had the company customize our Manual for our convenience and with their approval. The company also includes a video on how to conduct a mock crisis. we are about to put a mock together soon to assure our protocol and abilities are streamlined, effective, and follow the MHAUS standards.
