Should patients who experience heatstroke or rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown) with exercise be tested for MH?

A very controversial question. A physician and/or neurologist should first evaluate these patients by routine measures for evidence of other disorders. At present, we advise that patients with these signs should undergo genetic testing following contracture testing, except if there is a family history of MH.
